Our client URGENTLY requires the services of a Senior Manager (Software Development) to:
Plan and deliver programmes of applications development to achieve business benefits.
Be responsible for the selection and planning of programmes of projects and related activities to achieve a set of business objectives and allocate resources to effect this.
Deliver application development work to time, budget and quality in accordance with appropriate standards.
Financial management to control of spend in the software development area.
Creation, maintenance and enforcement of software development policies &
procedure and software development architecture principles.
Designs and implements programs and program modifications from supplied specifications using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. This includes amending programmes in accordance with the design specification.
Resolving problems with software products or company software systems in conjunction with network administrators, business analysts, and software engineers.
Documentation of all work in accordance with agreed standards, including technical specifications/program specifications and produces technical documentation for the system as well as user documentation.
Provide specialist Agile programming languages service.
Managing and developing performance of team of developers in order to effectively plan, estimate and carry out programmes of applications development work. Manage talent to ensure retention of critical skills.
The ideal candidate should have:
Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems.
Relevant industry certification.
Certificate / Diploma in Business Analysis.
10 years relevant experience with at least 2 in a leadership role.
Hands-on development experience with 3 years in C#.
5 years in a management role.
Proven record of writing SQL Server queries.
Track record of experience in application development tools, programming languages, operating infrastructure and application systems.
Experience with managing a team of developers.
Experience in Agile programming practices and TFS.
Specialist knowledge of Software technology and programming language i.e. C#, SQL Sound understanding of development practices and methodologies.
Sound understanding and experience in ESB and methodologies.
Basic understanding of system functionality at enterprise sub-system level and understands databases and data relationships and the requirements of Change Control.
Professional understanding of system functionality at enterprise system level, and databases and data principles.
Highly developed communication skills to elicit information and explain complex concepts in non-technical language. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships, influence a variety of stakeholders, develop and coach teams &
individuals, and resolve conflict.
Resilience and sensitivity to diversity.
Well-developed critical and conceptual thinking &
problem-solving skills to perform in-depth analysis of software requirements and develop new software.
Strong computer, technology and systems skills.
POSITION:3 months contract with possibility of being extended thereafter.
